Moran Family of Brands recently held its 2018 Reunion in Nashville, TN and provided an opportunity for people in the system to meet, share ideas and learn valuable lessons to help grow their business. During the three-day event, company officials and franchisees were able to network, celebrate our success over the past year and receive insight to take their business to the next level.
Reunion attendees arrived at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel on Thursday, October 4 and enjoyed a welcome reception that evening. The conference officially kicked off the next morning with a breakfast and welcome from Moran Family of Brands CEO and Co-Founder Barb Moran-Goodrich. She was followed by keynote speaker and Indy race car driver JR Hildebrand. Hildebrand shares with attendees his thoughts on the importance of leadership and teamwork, being able to overcome challenges and accept change. He also discussed the future of autonomous vehicles, a topic he frequently addresses as an adjunct lecturer at Stanford University.
During both days of the Reunion, attendees were able to take part in several education sessions and presentations on topical subjects designed to provide insight and best practice suggestions for their business. Some of the topics included digital marketing, how to utilize social media and public relations, the impact of electronic vehicles, and succession planning for the future. Presentations were given by Moran executives, franchisees and industry experts. Attendees were also able to interact with several of our business partners and meet vendors showcasing their products and services in the exhibit hall during both days of the convention.
The final day of the Reunion gave franchisees the opportunity to break into smaller roundtable discussions to speak to their peers about challenges they have recently faced and how they have addressed them. One of the great advantages of being part of a franchise system is having the opportunity to meet and discuss any business issues and successful strategies with fellow franchisees. Our franchise owners shared many great thoughts and suggestions during these roundtable discussions and helped provide sound advice for others in attendance.
The Reunion concluded on Saturday night with a Gala event featuring music, entertainment and presentation of the 2018 Moran Family of Brands Franchisees of the Year awards. John Olson (Multistate Transmission), Albert and Serina Daniel (Milex Complete Auto Care) and Randy Durham (Alta Mere) were each given their awards and recognized for their success, contributions and mentorship they provided over the past year. It was a wonderful opportunity to honor each of the winners in an audience of their peers.
We’d like to thank the Convention Committee Members for their hard work and preparation in making the Reunion a tremendous success. We also appreciate all the franchisees, vendors and partners who attended and shared some valuable insights with others throughout the system. We are already looking forward to seeing everyone at our next Reunion and making it bigger and better than ever!
