Albert Daniel, Owner of Milex/Alta Mere, Boonsboro

“Like father, like son” suits Albert Daniel. Growing up, Daniel’s father was the neighborhood mechanic, often accepting a helping hand from the younger Daniel. From there, Daniel spent five years in the Navy, where he repaired and maintained equipment that supported jets on the aircraft carrier USS George Washington.

Eventually, after spending a few years as a technician for General Motors, Daniel decided to become his own boss and start a franchise. That’s when he opened his first Milex Complete Auto Care store in Frederick, Maryland, in 2007. With the help of his wife, the store’s co-owner who handles accounting and HR, Daniel turned his business into a neighborhood success.

After eight years in Fredericksburg, Daniel decided it was time to expand his business and open a second location. This past fall, in 2015, he opened a Milex/Alta Mere franchise in Boonsboro, Maryland. Daniel, who is a Certified Lotus Technician, can provide automotive computer reprogramming and diagnostic services at his location, which saves customers a trip to a dealership for repairs.

“Albert consistently ranks among the top performing franchisees in our system and has an outstanding reputation for excellent customer service,” said Peter Baldine, President of Moran Family of Brands.

That’s one reason Daniel has received Moran Family of Brands’ Award of Excellence for outstanding customer service six times. He was also named as Milex Complete Auto Care’s Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association in 2014, the second time he won the award. Daniel was recognized by his peers for his outstanding performance and contributions as a franchisee to help develop and grow the Milex Complete Auto Care brand. Furthermore, he currently serves on Moran Family of Brands’ Franchise Advisory Alliance and has been a trainer and mentor to other franchisees throughout the Moran Family of Brands system.

Daniel is a great example of how hard work and dedication can build a successful business with the Moran Family of Brands. Now, he can also say he has become the neighborhood mechanic just like his father before him.
